TomTom Telematics Rebrands To Webfleet Solutions

FLEETSENSE UPDATE – 24.10.19

OCTOBER NEWS – TomTom Telematics completes rebrand to Webfleet Solutions

Earlier in 2019 Bridgestone, the global tyre manufacturer completed its £800-million acquisition of TomTom Telematics. Now it completes the rebrand.

As of the 1st October 2019 the new name for TomTom Telematics is Webfleet Solutions, with the industry-leading software solution retaining the simple moniker of WEBFLEET. See more about the recent update to WEBFLEET 3.7

WEBFLEET fleet management from FLEETSenseWith many such cases, where large corporations buy out other business operations, very little will actually change. Existing customers of TomTom Telematics will see a seamless switch of brand with no impact on the WEBFLEET fleet management software as a service.

CEO and president of Bridgestone EMEA, Paolo Ferrari, said: “When we acquired Webfleet Solutions at the beginning of the year, we created a fleet solutions powerhouse.

“Together we have every capability to lead in what is an incredibly exciting, fast growing, and innovative area of mobility.

“We have the ambition, the infrastructure and resources, the data and insights, and we have the people and their unrivalled knowledge.

“As the new worlds of connected and autonomous mobility rapidly become a reality, together Bridgestone and Webfleet Solutions will ensure that our customers can enjoy every benefit of this new era.”

Bridgestone will continue to offer data-led solutions to ensure fleet operations are both effective and efficient. Webfleet Solutions’ name has come from its main solution platform, WEBFLEET, which has been providing telematics to fleets for 20 years.

As they have done since the acquisition was first confirmed, teams from Bridgestone and Webfleet Solutions will continue to explore new opportunities and innovate together, to deliver future business growth and value to their customers, it said.

Leading Fleet Management specialists FLEETSense retain their Certified Partner status.

“It’s logical step for the brand to move forward now” said Tom Dickerson, MD of FLEETSense. “It means we can continue to offer the same quality solutions and hardware, with the size and strength of a major global brand behind it all.”
